Where We Are
Traralgon & Surrounds
Traralgon & District Baptist Church (TDBC) is situated on the edge of the Traralgon central business district. The location of our facilities makes us accessible for foot traffic and central to surrounding towns, where many of our attendees reside.
Located in the centre of Gippsland and the most populous city of the Latrobe Valley, Traralgon is placed approximately 160km east of Melbourne and is one of Victoria’s major regional centres. Traralgon is one of the most liveable regions in Victoria, known for its unbeatable lifestyle of regional living, with farming and rural townships close by. Some of Victoria’s most stunning beaches are a quiet 50-minute drive away, and the hills 10-minutes to the north host delightful bushwalking tracks.
With access via the Princes Freeway and V/Line rail services, Traralgon is easily accessible and provides a diverse range of health services, living, and education.
Traralgon, at the 2021 Census, was 26,907 in number and is the largest and fastest growing city in the greater Latrobe Valley area, having a population of 78,845. 31,000 indicated they were aligned with Christian faith in the 2021 census, whilst 47,000 listed themselves as Secular.
Initially an industrial hub, as a result of the local power stations and Australian Paper Mill, Traralgon has evolved into a large population centre, servicing surrounds as far away as Omeo.
Traralgon continues to evolve, with recent additions of state of the art facilities, such as the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre, Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium, and Gippsland Performing Arts Centre, it has hosted National sporting competitions and welcomed popular entertainers. Home to Latrobe Regional Health, Traralgon also has access to emergent and specialised healthcare services.
